The Lead, Pharmacy is responsible for managing and providing optimal pharmaceutical services within the hospital that has a patient population ranging from 18 years to geriatric experiencing medically complex conditions, general medical-surgical conditions, with rehabilitation and/or wound care needs.
The Lead is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of the pharmacy department and implementation of the Strategic Plan for Safe Medication Management.
The Lead ensures the Pharmacy complies with all state certifications and regulations, Medicare and federal regulations and maintains JCAHO, accreditation. The Lead develops and implements applicable policies, procedures, and standards of practice for the Pharmacy and complies with all hospital policies and procedures. The Lead hires, supervises, delegates, and coordinates personnel in the pharmacy department. Promotes teamwork with physicians, nurses, and personnel of other departments.
Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Hospital Pharmacy Administration or Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
Three (3) years experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
Three (3) years of management experience preferred.
Must meet the state board of pharmacy requirements as pharmacist in charge for the hospital.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current Pharmacists license to practice by the state of employment. Maintains current BLS certification throughout employment.
