Register patient's and verify all records are up to date and accurate.
Confirm patient's insurance eligibility and benefits.
Receive and sort mail.
Answer phones and direct calls if needed.
Check voicemail throughout the day and return messages.
Check emails and respond to any messages.
Check fax machine throughout the day and respond accordingly.
Order supplies as needed.
Submit and retrieve medical records requests.
Review charts and make sure all necessary documentation is obtained prior to scheduling appointments.
Submit prior authorizations to insurance for review and follow up on response.
Perform other assignments/duties as given by supervisor.
Experience/Skills:
Excellent communication skills Prior experience in medical office environment and/or reception preferred.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe proficient.
Comfortable with using multiple web based applications daily.
Understanding of HIPAA.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
