Responsibilities:
Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of childrenObserve all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Broken Arrow and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies about children's health, safety, and careAssesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basisImplements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programmingPlans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluationsMaintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions confidentlyProvides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behaviorAccepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common-use areas, and playgroundsAttends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functionsMaintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Broken Arrow Employee Handbook Assists in other capacities that the Director, or designee, determines are necessaryDesired skills and
Experience:
Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency Teacher Required or can be completed on the jobApproved Entry-Level Child Care Training (ELCCT) listed on the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR) website prior to or within 90 days of employmentCPR, First Aid, and Safe Sleep in the infant room are required or obtained during employmentMaster teacher level 3 ((Oklahoma Competency Certificate) or above preferred Infant - Preschool Teachers:
2-year degree in early childhood, related field OR Child Development Associate (CDA) preferredPrevious teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferredKnowledge of academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative needs of young children Must be able to lift up to 35 lbsin connection with handling children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situationsInfant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to lift infants into and out of a crib properlyMake a difference every daySpend your days building genuine relationships with each childHelp children learn about language and literacy, science, life skills, and moreWork with your co-teacher to implement the lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning curriculumMaintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions confidentlyDiscover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around themEach Primrose school is a privately owned and operated franchise, and the respective Franchise Owner is the employer at each schoolFranchise Owners set their own wage and benefit programs, which vary among Franchise OwnersPrimrose Schools and its Franchise Owners are equal-opportunity employersPositions and position titles vary by schoolLet's talk about building a brighter future togetherCompensation:
