Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities include:
Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
Oversees purchasing from the company'sglobal partners and manages the logistics of international ocean and air freight to deliver these materials to the company'sUS facilities.
Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management, or works with leadership on the functions.
Sets material Min/Max level based on usage, lead time and forecast.
Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
Acts as the company's representative in negotiations with suppliers.
Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
Collaborates with leadership to develop and administer the departmental budget.
Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
Collaborates with sales, customer service, operations, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
Collaborates extensively with engineering to review product drawings, bills of materials, and required raw material.
Works with the engineering department to ensure all purchasing is compliant with ASME requirements.
Maintains Material Test Reports (MTR) on all raw material.
Oversees Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
Reviews engineering drawings and bills of materials to create jobs in manufacturing software.
Education, Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management, required.
At least 4-5 years of experience in a related field required.
Experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment required.
Experience reading engineering drawings.
Experience evaluating bills of materials.
Preferred Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
Experience purchasing from Asia.
Experience with global logistics including harmonize codes, LCL and FCL shipping via ocean freight, and managing relationships with freight forwarders.
Recommended Skills Contract Management Customer Service Forecasting Leadership Manufacturing Merchandising Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
